In the past year, ELECTRA finalized the detailed definition of 6 main Use Cases which are part of the overall ELECTRA Web-of-Cells concept. The use cases are namely Inertia Response Power Control (IRPC), Frequency Containment Control (FCC), Balance Restoration Control (BRC), Balance Steering Control (BSC), Primary Voltage Control (PVC) and Post Primary Voltage Control (PPVC).
For each Use Case detailed control functions are developed and implemented, as well as simulated. Main objective and challenge in the final year is to further consolidate the concepts and to perform lab-scale testing and validation of the ELECTRA use cases, their combinations and all related control functions. The attached WP7 fact sheets provide an overview of simulations and lab-scale experiments to be performed.
The Joint Research Centre ( JRC) in Ispra (Italy) hosted the EERA JP Smart Grids Steering Committee meeting and the ELECTRA IRP workshop on International Cooperation, involving also a dedicated Mission Innovation section. (Read more and download presentations here)
EERA JP Smart Grids members will meet in ISPRA for the Steering Committee meeting which will be focused on defining strategy, objectives and activities of the R&D plan for the next four years. The outcomes of the review meeting of the ELECTRA IRP with the EU Commission will be also illustrated and key actions and perspectives for the last year of the project will be discussed.
Moreover, on 5 April, a Workshop on International Cooperation will be held (see the attached Agenda). During the workshop ELECTRA IRP activities such as researchers exchanges mobility scheme and International Cooperation will be presented. Links and synergies with Mission Innovation will be also discussed.
