Relevant contribution of ELECTRA to CIRED 2017

Busy days for ELECTRA team at CIRED 2017 ! Two oral presentations were delivered in the main sessions and nine posters displayed.

ELECTRA team organized the round table "Innovative grid architectures and control strategies for 2030+ power systems" on Wednesday 14 June, in the room Boisdale. The round table was chaired by Luciano Martini RSE, the ELECTRA IRP coordinator.Four panellists delivered their presentations and answered to questions from the audience about future control scenarios and architecture of the grid in order to couple with power system changes. Helfried Brunner AIT, ELECTRA technical coordinator and Alexander Prostejovsky DTU, presented, respectively, the "Web of Cells" concept and the "Balance Restoration Control" developed inside ELECTRA. George Kariniotakis MINES ParisTech and Stephen McArthur University of Strathclyde, presented other approaches for power system control, namely the "Fractal Grid" approach and the "Autonomic Power System" developed in national R&D projects. Finally a booth was set up along with the ERIGrid project in the exhibition area. Congress delegates had the chance to get directly in contact with the ELECTRA team, pick-up technical brochures describing ELECTRA approach and further discuss about ELECTRA results and perspectives.
